Best Way to Drink Casa Dragones Tequila
“For optimal tasting, serve Casa Dragones over ice using large cubes to avert dilution. This Tequila is notably silky, with a minimal burn, enriched by subtle anise-like notes, black pepper, and a touch of agave sweetness. While it may not possess the depth, complexity, and subtleties of some premier Blanco Tequilas, it offers a seamless and straightforward experience that’s easy to enjoy.”, mentions Tequila expert Neil Coleman.

On the Rocks
Sipping Casa Dragones Blanco on the rocks is a fine choice, but it’s advisable to use large ice cubes to minimize dilution. Since it’s bottled at a modest 80-proof, excessive dilution can weaken its flavor profile significantly.
Glass Selection
Keep it simple.
A classic Tequila glass or a straightforward tumbler is perfect.
Casa Dragones’ flavors and aromas are best captured in these glasses.
Flavor Notes
Casa Dragones begins with a medicinal hint, soon giving way to pleasant agave and citrus.
On the palate, it’s light with prominent notes of anise, mint, and a hint of sweetness.
Smooth throughout, it concludes with a gentle, refreshing finish of black pepper and mint.
Cocktails

Casa Dragones falls on the higher end of the price spectrum for Blanco Tequilas, and I’m hesitant to recommend it as a cocktail mixer.
Typically, I advocate for using Tequilas priced under $30 for crafting cocktails, as they often present the optimal flavor profile without overspending.
Splurging beyond that for a mixer can feel extravagant.
Yet, if you’re set on incorporating Casa Dragones into a drink, here are some inspired ideas.
These cocktails are straightforward, demanding minimal expertise:
Cadillac Margarita:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Grand Marnier
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz agave syrup
Shake all components with ice. Strain into a salt-rimmed glass and finish with a lime slice.
Mexican Martini:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 0.5 oz orange liqueur
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- A splash of olive brine
Combine in a shaker, shake vigorously, and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with olives.
Dragones Sunset:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 3 oz orange juice
- 1 oz grenadine
Pour tequila and orange juice into a glass filled with ice. Slowly pour grenadine over the back of a spoon so it settles at the bottom, creating a “sunset” effect.
Taking Shots

Casa Dragones is primarily regarded as a sipping Tequila, so while taking it as a shot isn’t the foremost recommendation, it’s certainly effective if chosen.
I advise enjoying it at room temperature.
There’s no real necessity for lime and salt additions, which are often paired with tequilas that have a more potent, rocket fuel-like flavor.
Food Pairings

Consider these dishes when pairing Casa Dragones:
- Oysters on the Half Shell: The briny freshness of oysters on the half shell pairs wonderfully with the smooth and nuanced flavors of this Tequila.
- Sushi and Sashimi: High-quality sushi and sashimi, with their delicate flavors and fresh ingredients, harmonize beautifully with Casa Dragones. The tequila’s clean and citrusy profile complements the subtlety of the Japanese cuisine.
- Lobster Bisque: A luxurious lobster bisque, rich in flavor and creamy texture, pairs excellently with this Tequila.
- Grilled Filet Mignon: A perfectly grilled filet mignon, seasoned to perfection, is a classic pairing with Dragones Tequila. The tequila’s smooth and balanced profile complements the richness of the steak.
- Chocolate Truffles: High-quality chocolate truffles, with their rich and velvety textures, make a delightful pairing. The tequila’s subtle sweetness and hints of spice complement the chocolate’s depth of flavor.
Storing Your Bottle
Casa Dragones has an infinite shelf life if stored correctly:
- Location: Always place in a cool, dark environment, shielded from sunlight.
- Upright: Maintain the bottle’s upright position to protect the cork and flavor.
- Seal Tight: A tight seal is crucial to prevent unwanted air exposure.
Consume the Tequila promptly once it hits the 25% mark to prevent the emergence of unwanted flavors.
